The Syrian conflict has caused nearly half of the country’s population to leave their homes. More than five million live as refugees, making Syrians the largest refugee group in the world. Nine in 10 Syrian refugees live in rural and urban host communities in neighboring countries, while about 10% live in camp settings. Searching for Syria is a project created in partnership with the UNHCR, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, that explores five common Search queries that people around the world are asking about the Syrian refugee crisis. It provides rich, dynamic answers that combine UNHCR detailed data sets, human stories, and Search trends from all over the world.
